A NEW ERA IN GYMNASTICS TAKES FLIGHT

Our Story

At Santa Cruz Rising, “Where Dreams Take Flight” is more than our tagline;

it’s our purpose.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to dream big, discover what they’re capable of, and experience the confidence that comes from doing hard things alongside people who believe in them. Every athlete deserves a place where they feel challenged, encouraged, and like they truly belong.

SC Rising was created by local families who shared one simple belief: our community deserves a place where children of every age and ability can grow through gymnastics. While SC Rising is new, the community behind it has deep roots in Santa Cruz County gymnastics. Generations of local gymnasts, families, and coaches have helped shape the sport here and now many of those former athletes, longtime families, and coaches are coming together as part of this vision.

Today, we’re building a gym where recreational and competitive gymnastics exist side by side. Children can explore the sport simply because they love it, while athletes who want to pursue higher levels will have a pathway to keep progressing right here in Santa Cruz. Our goal is to provide the coaching, equipment, and competitive opportunities that allow local athletes to see how far they can go without having to leave their community to do it. Most importantly, we want every child who walks through our doors to know there is a place for them here.

Gymnastics teaches far more than skills on a balance beam or high bar. It teaches resilience after setbacks, courage in the face of fear, discipline through hard work, and confidence that carries into the classroom and everyday life. Those lessons become part of who a child is long after they leave the gym.

As we prepare to open our permanent home, we have the opportunity to build something lasting, not just for today’s athletes, but for generations of Santa Cruz children to come. More than a building, we’re creating a place where friendships are formed, confidence is built, families find community, and dreams have room to take flight.

Welcome to Santa Cruz Rising. Welcome Home.
